Helping students and families authentically navigate the transition from high school to college and beyond is my passion. I have over 20 years experience as a mentor, counselor, advisor, and coach developed while working in higher education at Georgia Tech and Emory University. I have additional experience serving as a career coach assisting others with their transition into the working world and as a counselor supporting clients in their journey toward positive change.
I hold an M.S. and Ed.S. in Professional Counseling and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Practice from Georgia State University. I am a Nationally Board Certified Counselor ID# 317998 and a certified Academic Coach (ACTP). My research has focused on college transition, stress, coping, belongingness, and academic persistence. I have also received specialized training in working with autistic students, students with attention and executive functioning needs, and students who may have other mental health related needs impacting their academic path.
I am a mother to a lively 10 year old daughter, who has an ADHD and LD diagnosis. I also have a 29 year old step-daughter who has successfully navigated college and the entrance into adult working life.
